Last week, Governor Kathy Hochul announced the completion of a major coastal resiliency effort on Montauk Point to restore the shoreline damage caused by Superstorm Sandy and provide long-term protection for the newly-renovated historic Montauk Point Lighthouse on Long Island. Through a partnership between DEC and New York District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, approximately 1,000 feet of stone revetment was rebuilt, including new armor stones weighing between 10-20 tons each. | NYS Department
